About

I’m Cornel Raiu, a systems architect and developer based in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Since 2012 I’ve been running Master WebTools, a development studio that designs and builds software for agencies and businesses.

Projects rarely stop at a single website. A typical one is a platform: several apps and websites, the APIs and microservices behind them, queues, and integrations with third-party systems. I design how those pieces fit together and then build them, mostly in Laravel and WordPress.

More and more of that work involves AI: LLM-powered features inside products, agents that automate workflows across systems, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) with embeddings and semantic search, so answers come from a company’s own data rather than the open internet. I’ve also built quite a few MCP servers, which connect AI assistants like Claude to a company’s databases, APIs and internal tools, with access limited to what each assistant should see. I also build with an AI-assisted workflow, using tools like Claude Code, and help teams adopt one.

Outside client work, I wrote and maintain Search Analytics, a plugin that records what visitors search for on a WordPress site so its owner can see which content is missing. More recently I released Feature Request System, and Search Steer is on its way to WordPress.org. I’ve also contributed to Send Emails with Mandrill.
